Frequency Coordination
Frequency Coordination
Frequency Coordination is about establishing that a radio service can operate without harmful mutual interference with existing and future planned radio services in its area of operation.
Terrestrial Coordination
In Australia the process of assigning coordinated frequencies to new services is able to be performed by certain technically qualified persons who are accredited for this purpose by the ACMA. In a legal sense, a recommendation to make an assignment is made to the ACMA by these persons. ACMA will usually endorse these recommendations and place the frequency assignment inits register. Performing this frequency assignment service professionally and reliably requires the provider to maintain an extensive database of existing assignments, their locations, maps, terrain profiles, regulations, and so on.
SpectrumWise does not operate directly in that field, but it is able to advise on the selection of a suitable accredited person, brief them, and act as a technical liaison
Satellite Coordination
In the satellite arena frequency coordination assumes additional importance because of the international dimension, and the the potential to cause interference to the satellite services of other nations. The ITU treaty of the radio regulations is designed to promote equitable access to suitable orbits for all countries and to minimise radio interference. This activity is managed through the formal International Telecommunications Union satellite notification and coordination procedures.
SpectrumWise is able to provide direct services in the notification and coordination of satellites.
However, in some rare cases satellite frequency coordination work can involve extremely complex engineering studies for which there are very few competent experts available in the world. In such cases SpectrumWise can find the appropriate technical experts, brief them, and act as technical liaison for its clients.
